Before specialising in carnival and writing the Arts Council’s National Carnival Arts Strategy, Pax was responsible for, cultural diversity, festivals, combined arts, new technology, circus and street arts in the Arts Council where he worked for ten years till June 2006.
He is currently Combined Arts Services Artistic Director, St Paul’s Carnival (Artistic Director), World Carnival Commission in Canada (Vice President), National Carnival Bands Association in Trinidad (International Consultant). Wales Arts Council and Arts Council England’s Decibel Showcase and International Symposium (National Advisor). He has worked with Capital Lottery as the consultant organisation health checker.
Consultant for; UK Centre for Carnival Arts (training and arts) Western Union (marketing), Hackney Council (HCIM facilitator), Isle of Wight Carnival Centre (international liaison), Bristol Circus Festival (board director). He has fundraised for various arts organisations including, Notting Hill Carnival, Luton BC, Popcorn Club, Paxvision, Leicester and St Pauls Carnival.
As Creative Producer he managed the outdoor opening of Hackney Council Black History Month, Carnival Village in Glastonbury Festival and in Hyde Park for GLA the Carnival Education Zone and Film Lounge. “Whatever – Made In Malawi” his one-man live art and multimedia show.
As an international speaker and presenter, Pax has appeared on several conferences including, International Youth Circus Conference in France and South Africa World Carnival Conference (speaker), ICCA Carnival Conference in Miami and Boston (Keynote speaker), World Carnival Commission International Carnival Conference in Montreal (Keynote speaker), Circus Futures Conference in Bristol (Chair), St Martins College of Art, De Montford University, WOMEX (Germany) University of Florida and Street Arts Meeting in Brighton (speaker).
Pax was founder and director of community media project Paxvision, Series Editor “Viva Afrika” on IDTV, Artistic Director for Deptford Festival and Co-produced Chimanimani Festival in Zimbabwe, Video Jockey (VJ), music producer and performer for Afrikan reggae group Harare Dread which tours internationally.
