Trinidad & Tobago’s Panorama 2025 has been taking the spotlight with its latest season, crowning winners of three categories so far, including Single Pan Band and Small Conventional Band. Kicking off with preliminaries last November, Steelbands having been bringing boundless energy and musical brilliance, hoping for glory at finals which will finish in early March.
In December, San Juan East Side Symphony took the glory as the top Single Pan Band performing ‘The Guns’. They were followed closely by Chord Masters Steel Orchestra and Metro Stars Steel Orchestra, respectively. In the category of Small Conventional Band, ‘Rain-o-Rama’ was the song selection from winners T&Tec New Eastside Dimension with Golden Hands in second and Southern Stars Steel Orchestra in third place. BP Renegades Youth Steel Orchestra performed ‘Inventor’ and were crowned number one in the 21s and Under group followed by youth orchestras, Shell Invaders and Trinidad Allstars respectively.
This year’s theme, Steelpan Fuh So! Unleash D Power, perfectly captures the dynamic spirit of the competition and the unwavering passion of Steelpan musicians. Panorama 2025 has been showcasing an exciting lineup of Steelband contests and events in Panyards and communities nationwide, building anticipation as bands have been gearing up for the eagerly awaited Semi-Finals and Finals.
Keeping its promise already of an unforgettable tribute to the sweet sounds of the Steelpan, Panorama 2025 has been highlighting the exceptional talent, creativity, and dedication of musicians who continue to elevate this iconic instrument. It stands as a powerful homage to the Steelpan’s significance as a cornerstone of Trinidad and Tobago’s vibrant cultural heritage.
The Medium Band finals will take place on Sunday 23rd February at Dwight Yorke Stadium, Tobago and the Large Band Finals on Sat 1st March at Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain. For more info visit www.pantrinbago.co.tt
